In 2025, Shopify updated the way that apps can interact with their POS devices. Instead of adding a tile directly from the device, merchants must now add the Simplee Memberships tile from the Smart Grid configuration in the Shopify admin.
Step 1 - Create Smart Grid
Before you can add the Simplee Memberships tile, you'll need to make sure your Point of Sale configuration already has at least one smart grid created.
Open the Point of Sale sales channel, click on Settings, then click on Smart grid.
Confirm that you have at least one Smart grid assigned to your locations. If you don't create a new one and assign it to your POS locations.
Step 2 - Add Membership Tile
Return to the Settings page, then click the POS Apps section.
Click on the Simplee Memberships app.
Click on the Add button, and confirm that the tile shows as Added
This will automatically add the Simplee tile to your smart grid.
Step 3 - Customize Tile Color & Location
To change the position and color of the Simplee Memberships tile, open the smart grid you'd like to edit, then click the Customize button.
By clicking on the Simplee Memberships tile, you'll be able to change its color.
To change the tile's location on your smart grid, drag its location on the list of tiles.
Save any changes you've made, and you're all set! Now, when a customer is selected in POS, the Simplee Memberships tile will light up if they're active members with discounts available. Click the tile to apply the discount to their purchase.
